The problem

Do you have to pay tax on Binance profits?

Yes. Profits from crypto trading on Binance are taxable in Belgium. But turning your Binance history into a correct tax return is a time-consuming nightmare...

Confusing CSV exports

Binance CSV files contain spot trades, futures, earn products, staking, conversions and more. Each in a different format and with inconsistent column names.

Calculating FIFO by hand

Every sale must be matched to the oldest purchase. With hundreds of Binance trades this is practically impossible without software.

Staking & earn income

Staking rewards, Binance Earn and Launchpool payouts are taxed separately as movable income at 30%. But how do you filter those out of thousands of transactions?

The solution

How to import Binance transactions into Cryptotax

What you need to know

Binance and the Belgian tax authorities

As a Binance user in Belgium you have specific obligations. Here are the three most important ones.

Binance and the CAP declaration

Binance is a foreign platform. Belgian taxpayers are legally required to report their Binance account to the Central Point of Contact (CAP) of the National Bank of Belgium.

Under MiCA, Binance has obtained a license through certain EU entities. Even so, the CAP reporting obligation remains for Belgian users as long as the platform does not operate as a Belgian entity.

Calculating capital gains tax

Speculative capital gains on crypto are taxed at 33% (+ municipal surcharge). If you trade regularly on Binance, there is a good chance the tax authorities will consider you speculative.

Cryptotax automatically calculates your capital gains per transaction using the FIFO method in euros, so you know exactly how much you need to declare.

DAC8 and Binance

From 2026, crypto exchanges like Binance are required to report transaction data automatically to the Belgian tax authorities through the DAC8 framework.

This means the tax authorities will know what you traded on Binance regardless. A correct and proactive declaration is therefore essential to avoid penalties.
