TL;DR

You can now view and edit your individual tax events, for maximum control and transparency over your Belgian tax report.

Sometimes you want just a little more control over how your gains are calculated, especially when taxes are involved.

Cryptotax offers an important feature: you can view and edit individual tax events directly in your dashboard.

With this feature you give yourself and your accountant full transparency over every calculation, from where a purchase price comes from to why something is treated as taxable.

🔍 Why this matters

Until now, all calculations were performed automatically based on your transaction history. Convenient, but sometimes you want to know why something is taxable, or simply correct something.

Thanks to this update, you can now:

  • See exactly how each gain or loss comes about
  • Understand which purchases and sales are linked to each other (FIFO)
  • Manually update small errors or incomplete data

The result: more confidence in your report, and less doubt about your Belgian tax return.

⚙️ How it works

Every tax event now has a detail view.

There you will find:

  • The original transaction (with date, asset, and source)
  • The linked purchase or sale (for cost basis)
  • All relevant prices and fees

You can edit each event manually:

  • Change the type of treatment (for example, "not taxable")
  • Enter corrections for missing data
  • Refine labels or categories

All changes are logged, and soon even with a full audit trail, so you can always look back at what was changed and when.

💡 Practical examples

1. Bridge transactions

Sometimes bridge transfers between networks are wrongly seen as swaps. You can now mark those as "not taxable".

2. Staking rewards

Did you receive staking income that was not recognized automatically? Add or edit it manually.

3. Airdrops or manual basis

For airdrops without price data, you can set a cost basis yourself, so the calculation stays correct.

🚀 What is still coming

We are continuing to build:

  • Accountant review mode: give your accountant temporary read or write access
  • Full change history: show every edit step by step
  • Undo option: revert changes with a single click

🧾 Summary

  • Full insight into every tax event
  • Manual corrections for exceptions or missing data
  • Audit trail and a future review mode
  • More confidence and control over your Belgian tax return
