Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to provide my private key?
No! We only need your Polygon wallet address (0x...). All transactions are public on the blockchain. We never ask for private keys or seed phrases.
Is the native token MATIC or POL?
Polygon migrated its native token from MATIC to POL in September 2024. Cryptotax recognizes both labels and reports them as POL, so older MATIC transactions and newer POL transactions are valued consistently in EUR.
What about bridging between Ethereum and Polygon?
Bridge transactions are automatically detected and properly handled. We track when you bridge assets between Ethereum L1 and Polygon so your cost-basis stays intact.
How are Polygon transactions taxed in Belgium?
Polygon transactions follow the same Belgian tax rules as Ethereum. Swaps may be taxable as capital gains (vak XV) or as miscellaneous income for speculative profiles, DeFi yields as movable income (vak VII), and held assets may require reporting (Annex 2). Our system automatically classifies each transaction.
Is there a transaction limit?
The free scan allows you to preview your Polygon transactions. Full access requires a subscription based on your transaction volume. Check our pricing page for details.
