Over the past few weeks we have substantially expanded the Cryptotax accountant platform. What started as an environment for viewing client reports is now a full-fledged workspace for firms: live client files with corrections and an audit trail, teams with roles, automatic deadline monitoring and bank-ready export documents. Here is an overview of what is new, and why it makes your filing season a good deal lighter.

🔍 Live client files: no more queue

Managed client files now always show live figures. If your client imports an extra wallet, you see the result immediately, without the client first having to go through a review step. You work on the same up-to-date data as the calculation itself, and drill down to the level of individual tax events.

You apply corrections directly on that live data: change types, correct quantities, link transfers together, or mark events as spam or non-taxable in bulk. Every change gets an edit history, and everything comes together in a correction log that is included in the file. Done? Then you click "Lock report" and Cryptotax generates the complete package: a PDF report with a filing section, Tax-on-Web codes as CSV, the correction log, the original source CSVs and a manifest. If something else surfaces later, you reopen the file and lock a new version.

⚙️ Teams and roles for your firm

You do not work alone, and neither do your files. With firm workspaces you invite colleagues into the same environment, each with their own role: Owner, Accountant, Assistant or Read only. The file manager locks reports, the assistant prepares, and the partner follows along without being able to change anything. Billing and team management run centrally per firm.

New firms are also guided by an onboarding wizard that sets up the terms, firm details, the first client file and the team in four steps.

📅 Deadlines monitored automatically

The dashboard shows the filing deadline for authorized agents (mandatarissen) with a countdown bar, and gives each file a status chip: on schedule, deadline approaching, overdue or filed. At 30, 14 and 7 days before the deadline you receive an email digest with the files that still need action. No more spreadsheet of due dates alongside your file management.

🧾 Completeness confirmation by your client

For each file you ask your client, with a single click, to formally confirm that the accounts and wallets they provided are complete. The client sees the account overview and confirms explicitly; if they later add an account, the confirmation lapses automatically and you request a new one. The confirmation is included in the locked report: an important piece of file-building for your liability.

🏦 Bank-ready documents: source of funds and snapshot

Two new export documents also make your files useful beyond the tax return:

  • The source-of-funds report bundles fiat deposits, the purchase timeline per asset and internal transfers into a bank-oriented document, for when your client's bank asks for proof of funds.
  • The snapshot certificate records your client's portfolio as of 31 December 2025 (quantity, valuation and price source per asset), as a versioned piece of evidence for the starting value under the capital gains tax.

💡 And the tax return itself? Pre-filled per code

The file includes a filing panel that translates the results into the concrete Tax-on-Web codes, with a copy button per amount and separate columns for the filer and partner. The same codes appear in the PDF report and as a CSV with the exports. Read more about the Tax-on-Web filing assistant.

✅ Start for free with your first file

Everything above is part of the Accountant plan: free for your first client, then 149 euro per client file per year, with no bundles or limits. Clients with a paid file also get free PRO access.

Create your account at cryptotax.be/voor-accountants, complete the onboarding and invite your first client. Questions about how it works? The workflow guide walks you from invitation to export.
