Accountant Workflow Guide: From Invitation to Export

Overview

This knowledge article gives accountants a step-by-step workflow for managing clients' crypto tax data, from the initial invitation to the final report export.

1. Accepting Invitations

There are two entry methods: clients can share their dashboard by email with a "Register as Accountant" button, or accountants can invite clients from their dashboard. For clients without their own account you create a managed file directly.

2. Dashboard Navigation

The main view shows the core components: an assessment year selector, a statistics row, a tool to invite clients, a table of clients with status information and deadline chips, and a tracker for pending invitations. At the top you see a countdown bar to the filing deadline for authorised agents.

3. Reviewing Client Data

A managed file always shows live figures: every new import is immediately visible. You review summaries of capital gains, taxes and income and drill down to individual tax events. Through editing tax events you adjust transactions, individually or in bulk, with an edit history per correction. In addition, ask your client for a formal confirmation that the account statement is complete; you can see the status of that in the file.

4. Finalising the Report

Once you have finished the review, you click "Finalise report". Cryptotax freezes the calculation and generates the complete file package: the PDF report with a declaration section, the Tax-on-Web codes as a CSV, the correction log and the original source CSVs. If new data surfaces later, you reopen the file with "Reopen" and finalise a new version.

5. Report Export Options

Per client per year you export the finalised package, and on request a source-of-funds report for the bank and the snapshot certificate of 31 December 2025. With the export feature you can generate tax reports for all your clients, also as a bulk ZIP. Read more about the full client management.

Quick Checklist

Check before finalising: invitation accepted, correct assessment year selected, pending events reviewed and corrected, confirmation of completeness requested from the client, and the right export choice.
