Want to include your Solana activity in your Belgian crypto tax return? In this guide we show you step by step how to import a Solana wallet into Cryptotax using just your public address. You do not need a private key, seed phrase or API key.
📋 What you need
You only need your public Solana address. That is a base58 string of 32 to 44 characters, for example 3SFRzF9Mk5W116BN18QGfKp9DT1Ujospye5KjqBahsVe. Unlike an Ethereum address, a Solana address does not start with 0x and contains upper- and lowercase letters that are case-sensitive.
Finding your address in Phantom
Open Phantom, click your account name at the top and then the copy icon next to your address. Note: copy the Solana address, not an address from another network that Phantom may show.
Finding your address with Ledger
In Ledger Live, open your Solana account and click "Receive". The address shown is your public receiving address. You can share it safely: it only gives read access to public on-chain data.
Verifying on Solscan
Not sure you have the right address? Paste it into Solscan and check whether you recognise your own transactions.
⚙️ Importing step by step
- Go to the Cryptotax app and choose to add a wallet.
- Select Solana as the network.
- Paste your public base58 address into the input field. Cryptotax checks the format immediately.
- Optionally add a label (for example "Phantom main wallet") to keep multiple wallets apart.
- Confirm. We fetch your full history and classify each transaction.
Because we fetch the history owner-resolved, incoming SPL transfers to your token accounts are automatically included too. You do not need to add separate token accounts.
✅ What Cryptotax detects
After the import, you see your Solana activity processed as:
| Activity | Processing |
|---|---|
| Native SOL received/sent | Transfer, with EUR value at the time |
| SPL token transfer (USDC, USDT, JUP, BONK, ...) | Transfer, priced in EUR |
| Swap (e.g. SOL to USDC) | Sale + purchase, linked automatically |
| Network fees | As a cost booked in SOL |
| Spam tokens and cNFT dust | Filtered automatically |
Every swap falls under the Belgian capital gains tax, with FIFO to determine which lots are sold.
⚠️ Staking not yet supported
At this stage Cryptotax processes Solana transfers and swaps, but not yet staking (native or liquid such as mSOL/jitoSOL) and no separate DeFi protocol labeling yet. Do you stake your SOL? Then your report may be incomplete, and we show a clear notice for that. Read more in our preview Solana staking tax.
❓ FAQ: frequently asked questions
Do I need to provide my private key or seed phrase?
No. We only need your public address. All transactions are public on the blockchain. We never ask for private keys or seed phrases.
My address does not start with 0x, is that correct?
Yes. Solana addresses are base58 and never start with 0x. Paste the address exactly as it is, including capital letters, because it is case-sensitive.
Can I add multiple Solana wallets?
Yes. You can add multiple addresses; all activity is consolidated into a single report.
Are my USDC and USDT balances priced correctly?
Yes. Stablecoins and most well-known SPL tokens are valued in EUR via CoinGecko.
