Your data, your AI assistant. Connect Cryptotax to Claude or ChatGPT and ask questions about your crypto taxes in plain language. Your assistant fetches your figures straight from Cryptotax and, if you allow it, can resolve the open review items in your file together with you. The connection is part of the Pro plan.
🔍 What can you ask?
Your assistant works with the same figures as your dashboard. Examples:
- "How much of my exemption do I have left in 2026?"
- "Give me the Tax-on-web codes and amounts for this year's return."
- "Which transactions still need to be reviewed?"
- "In which month did I realise the most capital gains, and which transactions did I make then?"
- "Which exchange connection has a sync error?"

Corrections and transfer matches made by your assistant appear under "Mijn wijzigingen" (my changes) on your year overview, where you can remove them, and automatically trigger a recalculation. For now you view and delete standing rules through your assistant. Your assistant cannot change years your accountant has finalised.
✅ How it works, in 3 steps
- Add a connector. In Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app) or in ChatGPT, add a custom connector with the address
https://cryptotax.be/mcp. - Log in. You log in at Cryptotax itself. Your password never reaches the AI assistant.
- Give consent. If the app asks for write access, keep it ticked or untick it for read-only access. Click Allow. Done.

🔐 Security and privacy
- Access per connection: read only, or read and write. You choose again for every connection.
- You see who you connect with: the consent page shows the address the app will send you back to, and warns you about an app Cryptotax does not know.
- Revocable instantly: under Settings, "Connected apps", you revoke an app's access immediately.
- Everything logged: every action your AI assistant takes (read or change) is shown in your account's events.
- No middleman: Cryptotax hosts the connection itself. We only store access tokens as a hash.
- Share consciously: whatever your assistant fetches to answer your question ends up with the provider of that assistant (such as Anthropic or OpenAI).
❓ Frequently asked questions
What does the AI integration cost?
The connection is part of the Pro plan and costs nothing on top of Pro. With a free account or the Hobby plan you cannot connect an AI assistant. For a year without a paid plan your assistant only sees tax totals as a range, like in the app, and cannot change anything in that year. Your remaining exemption and exact totals are only available for a year with a paid plan.
Which AI assistants are supported?
Claude (claude.ai and the desktop app) and ChatGPT through a custom connector. Developer tools such as Claude Code and Cursor work with a personal API token. Whether you can add custom connectors depends on your Claude or ChatGPT plan.
Can my assistant just change things?
Only if you grant write access, and then only the same corrections you can make in the app yourself. Cryptotax instructs your assistant to run every change past you first, and corrections show up under "Mijn wijzigingen". You can also simply give read-only access.
Will the AI file my return?
No. Your assistant answers questions and helps get your file in order. You submit the return in Tax-on-web yourself or through your accountant.
Is this tax advice?
No. Cryptotax provides an indicative calculation and tools. An AI assistant can make mistakes; check important amounts in your dashboard.
