Import YouHodler into Cryptotax
You import YouHodler into Cryptotax with the CSV export of your transaction history. There is no API connection, so you do not need an API key. Use the dedicated YouHodler source, not the Custom CSV: YouHodler writes a swap on a single row (outgoing and incoming coin together), and the Custom CSV cannot pair such a row.
Step 1: Export your transactions from YouHodler
- Log in to YouHodler (app or web) and open your transaction history.
- Export the full period as CSV.
- Download the file (
exported_transactions*.csv).
Include your full history. Cryptotax calculates the purchase price with FIFO, so missing older transactions give wrong results.
Step 2: Upload the file in Cryptotax
- In Cryptotax, go to Add source.
- Choose the YouHodler tile (Export your transactions as CSV from YouHodler).
- Drag the file into the upload field, or pick it with the file picker. Cryptotax accepts
.csvand.txt. - Confirm the upload and wait for processing to finish.

Rows with a failed, cancelled or pending status are skipped.
Imported it earlier as a Custom CSV?
If you uploaded your YouHodler export through the Custom CSV before, every swap is now booked as an incoming coin without a purchase price, and the outgoing side is missing. You then see apparent purchases without sales.
- Remove the old Custom CSV file with Delete source on the page with your sources.
- Add your export again through the YouHodler source.
If you made manual corrections on the old file, they come loose when you delete it. Check them afterwards.
The Custom CSV wizard recognises a YouHodler file by its column names and suggests YouHodler as the source. If your file has many crypto-to-crypto rows without a partner row, the wizard shows a warning. Pick the YouHodler source in that case.
Frequently asked questions
What does Cryptotax do with MultiHODL?
Cryptotax counts the profit or loss per position at the moment the position closes. If a position opens in one export and closes in a later one, upload both files as YouHodler: Cryptotax nets the position across your exports. If the opening is in none of your uploaded files, Cryptotax shows an error on that row. Include your full history.
Why are my BONUS points not included?
BONUS is an internal points system of YouHodler. You cannot sell or withdraw it, so it is not part of your balance.
Is there an API connection with YouHodler?
No, YouHodler only works through CSV import.
