How to generate your Belgian tax report on CryptoTax.be

What it is

The tax report is a summary document you can use for your personenbelasting (personal income tax) return or to send to your accountant or tax adviser. It contains all relevant information about your crypto transactions in a given tax year, calculated according to Belgian tax rules.

What you need

  • An account on CryptoTax.be
  • All your transactions imported for the relevant tax year (see importing transactions)

Steps

1. Go to Reports

Log in to CryptoTax.be and click Reports in the left-hand menu.

2. Select the tax year

Choose the year for which you want to create a report from the drop-down menu. Tax returns in Belgium are generally for the previous year (in 2026 you file the return for the year 2025).

3. Check your transaction overview

Before generating the report, it is best to review the transaction overview to make sure everything is correct. Look out for:

  • Missing transactions
  • Unknown or incorrect amounts
  • Duplicate transactions

If you spot any issues, resolve them first via the Transactions menu.

  • A calculation of the capital gains tax due (10%)
  • A section for your accountant with notes on the methodology

What you use the report for

  • Filing your personenbelasting (personal income tax) return yourself (online via MyMinfin or Tax-on-Web)
  • Sending it to your accountant or tax adviser
  • Keeping it as documentation in the event of a tax audit

Important notes

  • CryptoTax.be provides a tool, not legal advice. In complex situations (DeFi, large-scale staking, NFTs) it is advisable to consult a tax adviser.
  • Also keep the original export files from your exchanges as supporting evidence.
  • The report is based on the information you have entered. Make sure all transactions are complete for an accurate calculation.
